The 1911 Census recorded 238 people named Kilgannon in Ireland; roughly one in every 18,000 people carried the name. The name was split fairly evenly between men and women: 122 men and 114 women. (A small number, 2, had no sex recorded.)

Women came out slightly ahead, 69.4% reading and writing against 67.2% of men. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were Thomas (19), James, Michael, Patrick and John; the same five names that topped the list nationally. For women it was Bridget (15), followed by Mary, Kate, Sarah and Catherine.
