The most common male names were Patrick (46), John, James, Thomas and Michael; the same five names that topped the list nationally. For women it was Mary (51), followed by Bridget, Ellen, Annie and Elizabeth.

The most common occupation among Leavys was farmer, 21.4% of them (132 people). Next came scholar / student (17.6%), farm labourer (6.3%), general labourer (5.2%) and domestic servant (2.3%).
