Lucid in 1911 Ireland
The 1911 Census recorded 69 people named Lucid in Ireland; roughly one in every 64,000 people carried the name. There were noticeably more men than women recorded: 38 men to 31 women.
Counties with Lucid in Ireland
The Lucids were heavily concentrated in Kerry, home to 84.1% of them (58 people). Next came Clare (6), Mayo (3), Dublin (1) and Tipperary (1).

The average Lucid in 1911 was 28.7 years old, 31.1 for men and 25.8 for women; a touch younger than the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.
Lucid literacy in 1911
Of the Lucids whose literacy was recorded, 84.1% could both read and write, 6.3% could read but not write, and 9.5% could do neither. Men came out slightly ahead, 91.7% reading and writing against 74.1% of women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.
Lucid common first names
The most common male names were Michael (7), William, David, John and Richard. For women it was Mary (6), followed by Ellen, Catherine, Johanna and Magret.
Lucid occupations in 1911
The most common entry on a Lucid's census form was "Scholar"; 29% (20) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (18.8%), general labourer (4.3%), domestic servant (2.9%) and farm labourer (2.9%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 21.7% of all Lucids, followed by general labourers, domestic service and retail & commerce.

Lucids were overwhelmingly Roman Catholic, 100% of them.
