Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (12.8%), general labourer (8.1%), farm labourer (3.7%) and shopkeeper / shop assistant / dealer (3.7%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 16.8% of all McClays, followed by general labourers, retail & commerce and textiles & clothing.
What religion is McClay?
Most McClays, 50.5%, were Presbyterian. The remainder were mostly Anglican (37.1%), Roman Catholic (7.5%), Methodist (2.5%) and Protestant (1.6%).
