Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 9.6% of all McClementses, followed by textiles & clothing, general labourers and retail & commerce.

Most McClementses, 54.8%, were Presbyterian. The remainder were mostly Anglican (18.4%), Roman Catholic (14.6%), Methodist (6.5%) and Congregationalist (1.7%).
