Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 19% of all McCorrys, followed by textiles & clothing, general labourers and metal & engineering.

McCorrys were predominantly Roman Catholic (87.2%). The remainder were mostly Anglican (10.5%), Presbyterian (1.2%) and Methodist (1.1%).
