Limerick had the largest share of McJs, 22.6% (12 people). Next came Donegal (8), Antrim (7), Down (7) and Fermanagh (4).

The average McJ in 1911 was 46.8 years old, 44.1 for men and 56.0 for women; noticeably older than the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.

Of the McJs whose literacy was recorded, 62.3% could both read and write, 5.7% could read but not write, and 32.1% could do neither. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were J (20), D, A, C and H. For women it was M (6), followed by E, I, J and L.

The most common occupation among McJs was general labourer, 18.9% of them (10 people). Next came farmer (11.3%), domestic servant (9.4%), farm labourer (5.7%) and carter / driver / groom (3.8%). Grouped by sector, general labourers accounted for 18.9% of all McJs, followed by agriculture, domestic service, textiles & clothing and transport.
What religion is McJ?
Most McJs, 67.9%, were Roman Catholic. The remainder were mostly Presbyterian (24.5%), Anglican (5.7%) and Methodist (1.9%).
