Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (20.6%), general labourer (9.5%), teacher (4.8%) and baker / confectioner (3.2%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 22.2% of all McNiffes, followed by general labourers, professional and food & drink.

McNiffes were predominantly Roman Catholic (81%). The remainder were mostly Anglican (17.5%).
