The 1911 Census recorded 82 people named Millikin in Ireland; roughly one in every 54,000 people carried the name. The name was split fairly evenly between men and women: 37 men and 45 women.

The Millikins were heavily concentrated in Antrim, home to 58.5% of them (48 people). Next came Derry (16), Down (15), Dublin (2) and Galway (1).

Of the Millikins whose literacy was recorded, 87.8% could both read and write, 1.2% could read but not write, and 11% could do neither. Women came out slightly ahead, 93.3% reading and writing against 81.1% of men. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were James (4), William, David, John and Thomas. For women it was Elizabeth (8), followed by Mary Ann, Mary, Jane and Letitia.

The most common entry on a Millikin's census form was "Scholar"; 22% (18) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were shopkeeper / shop assistant / dealer (9.8%), farmer (7.3%), general labourer (7.3%) and textile worker (7.3%). Grouped by sector, textiles & clothing accounted for 12.2% of all Millikins, followed by agriculture, retail & commerce and general labourers.
What religion is Millikin?
Most Millikins, 51.2%, were Presbyterian. The remainder were mostly Anglican (29.3%), Plymouth Brethren (7.3%), Congregationalist (3.7%) and Roman Catholic (3.7%).
