Of the Moors whose literacy was recorded, 79.2% could both read and write, 1.3% could read but not write, and 19.5% could do neither. Men came out slightly ahead, 80.5% reading and writing against 77.8% of women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were James (9), John, Joseph, Alexander and David. For women it was Mary (7), followed by Agnes, Frances, Liza and Marie.
Moor occupations in 1911
The most common entry on a Moor's census form was "Scholar"; 12.7% (10) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were farm labourer (10.1%), domestic servant (5.1%), general labourer (5.1%) and farmer (3.8%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 13.9% of all Moors, followed by textiles & clothing, domestic service and general labourers.
What religion is Moor?
The largest religious group among Moors was Roman Catholic, at 45.6%. The remainder were mostly Anglican (27.8%), Presbyterian (25.3%) and Non-Conformist (1.3%).
