The average Nannery in 1911 was 38.2 years old, 36.5 for men and 40.8 for women; noticeably older than the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.

Of the Nannerys whose literacy was recorded, 78.4% could both read and write, 2% could read but not write, and 19.6% could do neither. Women came out slightly ahead, 90% reading and writing against 71% of men. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were Patrick (7), John, Joseph, William and Connor. For women it was Mary (5), followed by Anne, Bridget, Catherine and Ellen.

The most common occupation among Nannerys was farmer, 26.9% of them (14 people). Next came scholar / student (11.5%), farm labourer (9.6%), metal worker / engineer (5.8%) and general labourer (1.9%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 36.5% of all Nannerys, followed by metal & engineering, building & construction and general labourers.
