Of the Sisks whose literacy was recorded, 78.6% could both read and write, 3.2% could read but not write, and 17.6% could do neither. The figures were much the same for men and women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were John (19), William, Patrick, James and Thomas. For women it was Mary (19), followed by Ellen, Kate, Margaret and Elizabeth.

The most common entry on a Sisk's census form was "Scholar"; 17.9% (34) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were farm labourer (6.8%), farmer (6.3%), general labourer (4.7%) and no occupation / dependent (2.1%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 13.2% of all Sisks, followed by general labourers, domestic service and transport.
What religion is Sisk?
Sisks were overwhelmingly Roman Catholic, 94.2% of them. The remainder were mostly Anglican (5.8%).
