The average Tease in 1911 was 34.9 years old, 32.2 for men and 38.4 for women; noticeably older than the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.

Of the Teases whose literacy was recorded, 87.1% could both read and write, 2.9% could read but not write, and 10% could do neither. The figures were much the same for men and women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common occupation among Teases was farmer, 31.4% of them (22 people). Next came scholar / student (20%), farm labourer (5.7%), agent / manager (2.9%) and retired / pensioner (2.9%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 37.1% of all Teases, followed by retail & commerce, retired & pensioners and textiles & clothing.

Teases were predominantly Presbyterian (84.3%). The remainder were mostly Anglican (15.7%).
