Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (12.3%), blacksmith / smith (6.8%), farm labourer (4.1%) and gardener (4.1%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 20.5% of all Tylers, followed by metal & engineering, domestic service and general labourers.

Most Tylers, 57.5%, were Roman Catholic. The remainder were mostly Anglican (35.6%), Methodist (5.5%) and Quaker (1.4%).
