That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. Grouped by sector, textiles & clothing accounted for 8.6% of all Webbs, followed by agriculture, retail & commerce and domestic service.

The largest religious group among Webbs was Anglican, at 46.6%. The remainder were mostly Roman Catholic (36.3%), Presbyterian (6.8%), Methodist (5.1%) and Quaker (2.7%).
