Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

Grouped by sector, textiles & clothing accounted for 13.8% of all Wightmans, followed by agriculture, building & construction and metal & engineering.
What religion is Wightman?
Most Wightmans, 67.5%, were Presbyterian. The remainder were mostly Anglican (9.3%), Roman Catholic (8.9%), Congregationalist (4.5%) and Baptist (3.7%).
