Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common entry on a Wishart's census form was "Scholar"; 25% (19) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were textile worker (17.1%), general labourer (5.3%), metal worker / engineer (5.3%) and farmer (3.9%). Grouped by sector, textiles & clothing accounted for 17.1% of all Wisharts, followed by general labourers, metal & engineering and agriculture.
What religion is Wishart?
The largest religious group among Wisharts was Anglican, at 39.5%. The remainder were mostly Presbyterian (19.7%), Roman Catholic (11.8%), Baptist (10.5%) and Unitarian (10.5%).
