These kinds of enclosures, roughly circular or oval earthworks that once defined farmsteads, ritual spaces, or defended settlements in early medieval Ireland, are common enough across the Irish landscape, but this one has been almost entirely absorbed into the ordinary life of the fields around it.

The evidence for the site is subtle to the point of near-invisibility. A gentle curve in the byroad immediately to the north, a corresponding arc in the field wall, and a low, curving rise along the eastern side together suggest a roughly circular enclosure of approximately 35 metres in diameter. What clinches its tentative identification as something deliberate and ancient is its appearance on the third edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map, where it registers as a semicircular kink in the townland boundary. Townland boundaries in Ireland are notoriously conservative features of the landscape, often preserving the memory of earlier divisions long after the physical features that generated them have disappeared, which makes this cartographic trace a quiet but significant clue.

The interior of whatever once stood here is now given over to growing vegetables, a use that is both thoroughly practical and, in its own way, continuous with the agricultural logic that likely shaped the site from the beginning. There is no monument to visit as such, no earthwork to walk around; just a low rise, a curving wall, and a road that bends slightly where it probably has no strictly modern reason to do so.
