The enclosure is roughly oval, measuring about six metres north to south and nine metres east to west, with a bank that barely reaches knee height at around 65 centimetres. It is a modest thing by any measure, yet its very modesty is part of what makes it interesting.

Enclosures of this general type are scattered across the Irish landscape in considerable numbers, and their purposes varied. Some were ringforts, the enclosed farmsteads of early medieval Ireland; others served as animal pounds, burial grounds, or ceremonial spaces. Without excavation, this one keeps its purpose to itself. What can be said is that the bank, though low and insubstantial, follows a roughly circular line, and the interior ground falls away steeply from north to south, suggesting that whoever laid it out was working with, rather than against, the natural contours of the slope.

At the time it was last documented, the site was inaccessible due to heavy overgrowth, which means that even a determined visitor would find little to see beyond the outline of the bank from the outside. That condition may or may not have changed, but the enclosure serves as a reminder that the Irish countryside contains a great many such features, small, ambiguous, and quietly resistant to easy interpretation.
