It is roughly D-shaped in plan, built without mortar in the drystone tradition, and measures just 1.9 by 1.7 metres across, with surviving walls reaching about a metre in height and nearly a metre thick. What makes it quietly arresting is the possible wall niche, a deliberate recess worked into the structure, suggesting that whoever used this space had something specific in mind, whether storage, a shelf, or something else entirely.

Drystone hut sites like this one are scattered across the Dingle Peninsula, remnants of a landscape that was far more intensively worked and inhabited than its present emptiness suggests. The structure here sits alongside an old field wall, which implies it was part of a broader pattern of land use rather than an isolated shelter. Its dimensions are modest even by the standards of such buildings, which were typically associated with seasonal farming activity, the herding of cattle to upland grazing, or the work of people who needed only a temporary roof. The site was documented by J. Cuppage in the 1986 archaeological survey of the Corca Dhuibhne region, a thorough examination of the Dingle Peninsula's extraordinary concentration of early remains, published under the Irish title Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne.
