The one at Knockphelagh in County Tipperary no longer looks quite as its builders intended. What was originally a circular enclosure has been reduced, by agricultural pressure, to something closer to a D-shape, roughly 26 metres north to south and 20 metres east to west. The northeastern arc has been cut back and straightened, the bank removed and the fosse deliberately filled in. A modern field boundary now runs along the line of that infilled ditch, quietly erasing the geometry that once defined this place.

Despite the loss of its eastern side, the surviving portion of the monument is substantial. The earthen bank, best preserved from the south-southeast round to the north, still stands to an external height of 2.3 metres, with a total width of over ten metres at its base. The accompanying fosse, where it survives, measures roughly five metres across. At the south-southwest, a four-metre gap in the bank, with a causeway preserved across the fosse, marks the original entrance, the point through which people passed in and out of whatever household or small farmstead occupied this enclosure during the early medieval centuries. A separate, modern break in the bank to the north, fitted with a ramp, speaks to more recent agricultural use. The interior itself is largely level across its northern two-thirds, with a gentle southward slope toward the old entrance, and is now shaded by a loose grouping of mature ash and beech trees.
