The enclosure is modest in scale, measuring just over twenty-seven metres east to west and around twenty-one metres north to south, and its earthworks have long since been swallowed by vegetation. What survives is low and unassuming: a grass-covered bank on the southern and western sides, rising no more than seventy centimetres internally, and a scarp elsewhere reaching just under a metre. It sits on a break in a north-west-facing slope, with a stream running below to the north-east, a positioning typical of ringfort builders, who favoured slightly elevated ground near water.

The earthworks are completed by an external fosse, a defensive ditch encircling the east, west, and northern sides. A fosse of this kind would originally have been dug to reinforce the bank above it, making the enclosure more defensible and visually imposing than it now appears. Today the ditch is shallow on the northern side and waterlogged to the west, consequences of centuries of drainage, silting, and agricultural use. The bank and scarp are described as heavily overgrown, which is common for earthwork ringforts that have escaped disturbance but also escaped active management. Thousands of ringforts survive across Ireland in varying degrees of preservation, and those left in permanent pasture, as this one appears to be, often endure better than those in arable ground, even if they become progressively harder to read in the landscape.
